Has anyone had their car make a flapping sound when they first start to drive the car after it sits for about an hour or so. The sound is similar to shuffling cards. It lasts for 3 seconds and goes away. The car has always done this and my Mitsu did it too in the same area of the engine bay. Mitsu said it was the A/C clutch. Anyone got this issue?

It could be the ABS going through its self-diagnostic routine. I notice it on my sedan and I have noticed the same sound/vibration on Audi, VW, and BMW.

I've never experienced the ABS self-check taking longer than 1 second, and I only notice it if my foot is on the brake when it happens.

Could be the catalytic converter or condensation in the exhaust being blown out after the 1 hour you mentioned.

Thanks for the ideas. I guess I shouldn't worry...right?
