Strange Electrical Problem

Very rarely my car will not make the clicking noise when I flick on either turn signal. The lights, front and back, still blink when this happens. It usually goes back to normal after turning the car off for awhile.

Although, the other day I had this happening all day. After turning the car off and letting it sit for awhile and trying again, I still had no clicking sounds.

I'm not too worried about the absence of the clicking sound from the turn signal as I am the other problem, which seems to happen very randomly when the turn signal problem is happening... When I turn off the car and take out the key, I hear this buzzing sound. Its kinda loud and sounds like its coming from behind the gauges in the dash! When i put the key in it goes away. I can start the car fine and usually when i take the key back out it doesn't do the buzzing sound again.

Any ideas guys? Really strange problem....
Its a 03 Sedan, 6MT

I'm bumping this thread up from the dead because I'm currently having the same problem as wescastle with the turn signal noise problem. I get no clicking sound at all when the turn signal is engaged. I have left the car overnight and turned the car on this morning, and the same problem remains. I haven't tried disconnecting the battery overnight but I'll do that tonight. I'm just wondering if anyone else here has the problem, and if so, how to resolve this.

I too have the same problem. My binkers sometimes don't work as described above, but my traction control light comes on too. Last time my speedometer didn't work and I drove without it! It seems to only happen to me when my car sits for over 5 hours in 30+ degree celcius humid temperatures. Seems when I turn the car off and then back on it usually goes away. The dealership is baffled.

Weird thing is, it's working now! One day I decided to use my spare key, turned the ignition on, checked the blinkers, and voila, the blinker sound is back. I haven't had any problems since. I agree that the extreme weather (too humid) could play a role in this problem.

the fact that the problem is accompanied by other electrical components in the general vacinity energizing when you put on your turn sinal makes it seem like theres a short, maybe caused by frayed wiring or, like dude said, humidity or rather the condensation caused thereof.
