Headlight focus, aim problem? **pic**

I recently got my drivers side headlight replaced at the dealer under warranty, and when i brought it back, i noticed the light pattern on the ground was really messed up, very streaky/spotty and not as bright as the passenger side. So, I pulled it up to a wall and this is what it looked like (see pic). I tried adjusting the aim (using the white gears on top), but it doesnt seem to help. Any ideas?

Take it back to the dealer and have them fix it right. That's my best advice.

They are up/down but that's it. I would also take it back and let them fix it.

hmmm... I might like that as a mod instead of the side-mirror tilt... can't imagine there is anyway to make it electronic?... however; for every mechanical (even manual) motion there is a way to automate it… cost-benefit?… nice flirt move (otherwise she doesn’t know your looking here up & down from in the car at night)… I know – I’m not a marketing guy.

The fx projectors have a motor to lift/drop the headlamps. So if you do a projector retro-fit you might be able to use those motors, but I don't know since I haven't gotten close to trying.

When it comes to work that the dealership has performed I highly recommend you go back and let them fix it or else they will blame you for any damage you may cause in the process of a DIY.

And I thought mine was bad. From about 25 feet my passenger side cut off is about 3" higher than my drivers side and it pisses me off. That is rotationally off... so yea, you're going to have to have the dealer fix that one.

Every time I see a shot of our cut offs I feel a little sick to my stomach. So much glare. Not as bad as the 2002 - 2003 Maximas, but, damn how did that ever meet DOT specs?

Update:

I took it back to the dealer and it turns out that they had a D2S bulb in there (it should be a D2R). I thought that might be the problem, but I heard that you couldn't put an S into an R socket. So, I don't know how they got it to fit, but it was in there. I had to explain the difference between the two bulbs because they were about to replace it with another D2S. Anyway, its fixed now.
