creaking?

i have an 04 X, and when i slow down or start to accelerate from a stop, the area above the rear right window creaks. when i pick up some speed, around 5-7 mph, its gone, but it comes right back when i start from a stop or slow speed again. is this a known issue?

Creaking windows is but not sure about how speed affects it. I've had my right rear window fixed twice at the dealer over the last 2 years. It's just starting to come back - yea! It seems to make the most noise when I leave from work which is strange. Sometimes just lowering the window and putting it up helps. If that doesn't work, I just bump it down a hair.

I think I had the same problem...Try taking your door panel apart and tighten the screws and make sure nothing is loose in side your door panel.

I have that sound too. I'm almost positive it's window related. When the windows are down, even just an inch it'll stop. Just add that to the list for when I go back for service.

it's a known problem for the 04 sedan...so on my car the dealer was able to strategically place felt (or sponge) shims in specific areas - took a couple of times back to the dealer but it's been problem free for a couple of years now... you might want them to check the TSB for 04 sedan and try the same thing for your car...

I got mine fixed under warranty. It is a TSB and a known issue.

yes it's a known issue with the rear window bolts that connect to the motor that drives it. They get loose and when the car pulls it creaks over the bolts. Known TSB I had it too

Tutty, I have the same problem you just described, I mean exactly the same. Will the dealership know what the problem is? Did they play dumb, or were they able to figure out the problem?
