G35 Vs. TL
Re: G35 Vs. TL
I really considered buying the 2003 TL with Navigation system. I liked how it drove, it was tough to find a G35 with navigation system, and it was noticebly cheaper. And the power was more than adequate for me. I did not like the ride of the TL-S. (The G35 seemed to be in between for me. Not as comfortable as the TL, but comfortable enough).
However, they did not have the car in the right color for me, and I knew that a new model was coming out for 04. I didn't know anything about what it would be like, and there was already a waiting list at the dealership. I feared that there would not be any discounts early on, and the price increase put it closer to a G35. Also, I might not like it.
So, I ended up getting a G35, and have been very happy with it. Just a few nits, which are to be expected since no car is everything for all people. There are compromises in any car, even $30K cars.

Re: G35 Vs. TL
No offense, I like the G sedan just fine, but the '04 TL is the best looking sedan I've seen in a very very long time.

Glad to see someone thinks this way, some people think a car has to be exactly to their specs!!!

Re: G35 Vs. TL
It's been said before, but if you want a sporty RWD sedan with a lot of toys, and you can't tell the difference between RWD and FWD, go TL. If you want a sports sedan with a tighter feel, cleaner cabin, and RWD, go G35.
I was thinking about how much I liked the new TL after it came out... until I realized that their DVD audio system doesn't really do much unless you have CDs that take advantage of it. And I don't have bluetooth phones. And the voice-recognition got rated worse than the 745iL's. Awesome toys, but maybe a little premature compared to where our country is, technologically. Just my opinion.

It's a wireless connection standard I believe. It allows different electronic equipment a wireless interface with each other.

Yep, if you have a bluetooth phone, for instance, you just hit the button on your phone, and it's hooked into the '04 TL sound system. Automatic handsfree and crystal clear. One of the best implementations I have ever seen. Very slick.

Re: G35 Vs. TL
My boss showed up today in a new '04 TL. It's suh-freakin'-weet. Backup collision sensors, right mirror backup auto-tilt, full body package, sat radio, very very nice.
As I said above, this is the nicest looking sedan I've seen in a long time, maybe ever.

Re: G35 Vs. TL
I think the TL looks like a warmed over 4 door mustang. I think in the looks department you can't beat a 97-03 BMW 5 series.

Yep, coincidentally, I saw a red M5 on the way in to work today, and also a forest green G35 sedan with about 30/20 tint. It looked very nice as well.
