2003 G 35 Sedan

I have a G35, bought used with 5200 miles. Ran really fast and alot of pep first 10 days. Lately seems like it lost power. I notice that when pressing on gas pedal when going 60 mph, the car goes, but accerates slowly. before it used to take off and feel the power.

I also notice that let's say i'm going 40 mph or sometimes at 60 mph and i press on gas pedal, engine rev's to 4-5 k then car goes faster, seems like trans slips or doesn't recognize that i'm pressing on gas pedal and rev's high and after 2-3 seconds start to accelerate.

Any feedback from anyone is greatly appreciated!
Neal

I recommend resetting the ECU. Look around in this forum, you will see the posts on how to do this and the results.

Cant really explain why this is happening to you. Perhaps when you bought the car, you were just impressed by the power (depends on what you were driving previously). After getting use to it, you maybe noticed the cars "learned" response times from the previous owner.

Either way, resetting the ECU and then taking it out for a few WOT runs should bring back that kick you are speaking of.

Good luck

Re: 2003 G 35 Sedan

the auto trans changes shifting points depending on how aggressively you drive. So I've got bad news. The person who had it before you or those people test driving it or whatever drove it very aggressively. This means it wasn't broken in properly. I’d say get rid of it before the warrantee is up (you still have a a lot of time with it.) Oh, and to solve your power problem, simply drive more aggressively, or get the technosquare ecu.
