there's nothing you can really do to make it sound like a stock coupe exhaust note. I've got a Borla exhaust and gotten many compliments on its nice growl.

I remember someone on this site had a fully custom exhaust made with magnflow mufflers and resonators and it almost sounded like a coupe, but not quite.

Has anyone mounted a coupe muffler to the sedan and routed a custom dual exhaust out the back? The only problem I see is finding a place to route the right side exhaust tube. I thought someone else tried this here.

has never and could never be done as our spare tire well resides in the area where the coupe has a wide open space, thus fitting the HUGE muffler back there.

I think the 05+ sedan midpipe will get you close, but you'll never match the Coupe's sound due to the cross-flow muffler design on the coupe. The 05+ sedan midpipe uses a much smaller resonator than the 03/04 sedan midpipe and midpipe is designed to work with the muffler design found on the sedan. Here's the 05+ midpipe on my 03.

+1. Here's what I did... Deeper growl, very tasteful, but not exactly coupe. I like it.

HKS rear is your best bet, but if you want to go cheap just swap out your mid-pipe for a coupe mid-pipe. Adding the Plenum spacer will help some also.
You will get close, but you won't get an exact duplication. Check Youtube for sound clips of several systems.

I have the coupe midpipe and I really like the sound. Slightly louder and deeper. Thinking about the HKS exhaust but now im thinking it might be too loud for me. So, first get the coupe middy drive around with it and let it warm up and if you want something slightly louder and deeper tone get the HKS.

I'm hearing too many good things about the HKS. I might actually get one. How bad is the droning inside?

hks is awesome. not much drone on the inside (look at my mod list) for the driver but its a tad bit annoying for a passenger (sucks to be them)...
