A DIY for this OEM modified grille?

accordfreak's whip ^

I've got an old OEM sedan grille lying around and was thinking I'd love to do this to it. Anyone know of any sedan owners that have done it? I mean, I am about to just bust out the dremmel and have at it, but I only get one shot and I wanna see if anyone had done it successfully already and could help me out! Thanks!

i think we might need to bribe accordfreak
or buy him some food. he says all he used was a dremel, but how did he stick it on? double sided tape? highly doubtful...

if you're up north, you should take him out to eat and stuff

jdk just chopped the two bars off and ziptied them to the mesh behind the gialla (style) grille.

I don’t know about the coupe grille... but the sedan grille sticks way out because of its depth... It would have to be recessed somehow to look like the one in the pic. Either than or cut the thickness in half - which I don’t think is possible because of the way the emblem sits in the recessed cup.

Bottom line, I don’t think that look can be done. But I could be wrong... I looked at my OEM trying to think of creative things to do and it's just not designed in a way that will really work for anything that would look good.

Good luck to anyone trying - I'd love to see something new for an OEM grille.

I'd like to try this on the sedan without the gialla grille....looks near impossible... if i were able to do it it would have to be THE MOST PRECISE work i'd ever done, and the plastic would probably crack halfway into it, sigh
