Last tank was consumed pretty much in one day 462 miles and the fille up was 19 gal. even. not bad. This was highway driving across Maine and New Hampshire.

^ That's really good number of miles for that tankful of gas, but I'd be wary not to always drive to the last drop of fuel. I know a friend who often did that with his Civic and ended up hurting his fuel pump.

I'de imagine that it also depends on the state your buying your fuel in... I'm in cali and our gas sucks.. When I drive to oregon or nevada I get much better fuel economy. Dammed botique fuels Isn't that the point of messin' with the fuels , to reduce emissions?? but then you end up burning more of it?? ohhh man don't get me started

Thats Good!
Quote: Half tank from L.A. to Vegas last week going about 85-95...I was very impressed. I had another half tank to drive around the strip.
Wow even with those steep hills on the I-15 freeway? Thats very impressive!

Low fuel light came on while on the freeway and continued about 5 miles to gas station. Put in 16.542 gallons and 397miles on the trip odo. Now on paper it says our tank holds 20 gallons. You mean to tell me I still have almost 4 gallons left in the gas tank?! That means I could've gotten to the 450miles per tank range?

I read a previous post where someone put in 19 gallons! That's pushing it!

Every tank for me since I bought my G in late July has been >90% city and I only get 15-16mpg... grrrrrr.... That's about the same (almost exactly) MPG I got with my '97 Rodeo V6 (!) and way worse than my '93 JDM Vtec prelude (~18-19 MPG city). Can't wait for my first roadtrip with my G a few weeks from now - 20+MPG is gonna be niiiiiiiice

I recently traveled 470 miles on a tank without the gas light coming on. I believe I put 15.6 US gallons in for an avg fuel economy of 30.1 MPG. This was achieved while driving from BC to Alberta through mountains with passing lanes, and a car loaded down with camping gear and passenger (only 125lb gf). Speeds averaged 70-75 mph.

That is pretty amazing 470 to the tank! Do you or anyone "top off" when refueling? For me, I stop whenever it clicks. But I can't see how much difference that really makes. Another thing is that our tanks hold 20 gallons but we can probably only use 15-16 gallons so it won't run dry?

A really cool experiment would be run it till it's dry of gas and see how many miles it's at! Anyone wanna try?

no top off.

actually, i can never completely fill my tank as the "shutter valve" in the tank is sticking and causing the gas pump to stop pumping. the most i've ever put in was about 17.5 gal with the low fuel light blazing. The gas needle on the dash never quite makes it to (or above) the "Full" detent on the gauge.

I hear this is a somewhat common issue. (My dealer has this part on order for a warranty fix - along with a new 6 spd tranny, clutch, and driver's seat frame.)

Quote: I know I am not the first one to do it, but I was happy. I went up north for the weekend and got 23.69 mpg at 80mph. I was hoping for 25-26 but I guess that is unrealistic.
I took a trip from Philadelphia, PA to Cleveland, OH last summer and pulled 25.5 using the cruise control @ 75 in my 06 G35x. Made it the entire way on one tank of gas.

Having since found out that the CC does a ****-poor job of conserving fuel, I'd be willing to bet that if I drove the trip again without the CC that I'd have it up near 27 MPG at the same speed.

why do you think CC does a ****-poor job of conserving fuel? i would expect it to do a good job especially on a flat route.

Yeah I used to think cruise control uses more gas. However I've read somewhere that it actually saves gas.
