These other ebay wheels also look really nice to me. I just can't believe how cheap they are. Whats the worst thing that could happen? These are really tempting.

ADR is a cheap wheel maker. And for 18s, they weigh a ton.

As for as the 1st replaica wheels you wanted, those suck too. And at $500 for wheels only, that's not a great deal at all. Considering you can REAL oem wheels and tires for just a bit more.

ie.. if you buy those replicas, how "cheap" would it be once you buy new tires that cost $125 each? So $500+$500 for cheap wheels and cheap tires.

I guess the more I think about it, it would be nice to have some real oem's. I've seen them go on ebay for real cheap with good tires.

As far as the replica's being "cheap" I really didn't mind as long as they don't literally fall apart on me. But I guess it doesn't feel right putting them on a nice car.

These are wheel replicas and they retain a similar to stock appearance but are much better. The color paint used was much better, and they have the polished lip and staggered sizes. The stock rims only took a 245/45 R17 tire. These aftermarket replicas took 275/45 R17 in the front and 315/40 R17 drag radials in the rear. This car was my toy until I sold it. This car had a fully built race motor making a peak 708 RWHP with a Paxton Novi 2000 supercharger, which was swaped out for a 2.2L Kenne Bell twin screw supercharger that made 580 RWHP at 2,400 RPMS all through a TKO 600 transmission, fully built rear end and 31 spline axels and 4in lug studs. I mean everything was done. All I had to do was take off the street tires / rims put on slicks and it was ready for the 1/4 mile track. I drove this car on these $500 rims that would get sideways on the highway at 70mph w/o using the clutch and the rims held up flawlessly.

So I'm sure wheel replicas will be fine on a G35 that make maybe 215 RWHP

here's video for any doubters

This thread is funny. You have to buy tires no matter what the wheels cost so that shouldn't even be apart of the equation. Also comparing buying new wheels from a business to buying a used set from a stranger seems like apples and oranges. I say if you like them buy them. Locally you will get much praise, just don't post pics on this forum or obviously you'll get ripped for not spending $3000.

I'm running VSR black mesh's in 19 x 8.5 & 9.5's from ebay, same as ADR's in quality, I'm not worried about them falling apart, they are NOT heavy, and I've only been reading posts here for less than two months and have seen not one but TWO sets of high $ Sevas at last count that have literally shredded during daily driving. I'll spend my extra 2K$ on 1/2 a turbo.

i was looking for some winter wheels, and after finding out they were replicas, did a search on other forums. as expected, opinions differ. some say it's all good, while other say there are serious concerns with quality (vibration, mounting issues, durability, etc).

generally speaking, you get what you pay for. good luck.

Doesn’t matter much now... I tried to click the link to see what OP was referring to and it's gone.

But to address the question generally... If "cheap" is what you are looking for, "cheap" is what you will get. That's not to say good deals can't be had... but I'd stick with something reputable no matter what you put on you G (not just wheels)...

Just my .02

I would not buy used wheels from my own brother. Used wheels are used no matter how careful the driver is. I bought a set of wheels and tires from ebay for about $800.00. Most of the sellers are companies and the "cheap" wheels are last years models and they try to get ride of them. I never had a proble with them. The only thing is if you bend them and try to find another wheel like that you are SOL.
