Muffler Grounding wire

After Installing the HKS muffler on the sedan tonight, I ran into a slight problem. I purchased new bolts from autozone for the exhaust and connected the ground wire with it. Now that I think about it, I dont know if the new bolts wil conduct electricity (the material just felt different). I am starting to believe this lack of ground has caused my auto headlights to not turn off and caused my battery to be drained. So my questions are:

Will the lack of that grounding wire cause my auto headlights to stay on more than 30 minutes even after all the doors were shut and alarm armed?

Should I reconnect the ground with some steel bolts anyway?

Your reply is greatly appreciated

i was convinced that was the problem but thinking about it, whats an extra grounding wire gonna do. It wouldnt because the whole car is grounded duh! I think i just shorted something...i don't know i'll have to monitor my car to see if the auto headlights goes back to normal.

I had the same thing when I just got my exhaust, its like a second ground, incase the first one fails or something, it really does not need to be on.
