I dont really go out there looking for races but when it comes I welcome the challenge. Going home last night and I was at a stop light when i see a cars light creeping up on me on a two lane rd, he got a rolling start on me and i spune the wheel when he took off so he was half a car lenght infront when i punched it to almost redline in 1st and 2nd, thats all it took to catch up and pass him. I looked over to see what exactly i was racing, it was a cream color lincoln Ls , I left this guy back about 4 car length when i broke it off to turn on my street, and for those that were wondering it was a v8, I know because i see this guy atleast once a week on the way home. And I'm sure like any other car guy I see every car on the road bucket or not....

 

Definately a weight advantage there vs. a porky Lincoln. =]

Ever drive one of these? I took a'03 w/V8 for a test drive last year, wasn't what I was looking for. The '03 & '04 have 280hp and the older ones have 250hp. The car is quite heavy and isn't very quick. I've seen 0-60 reports around mid 6s to low 7s but that's pushing it in my opinion.

I had a similar experience with someone looking to race. I was driving on a side street and this Lincoln LS started following me around speeding up and slowing down. He then followed me to the freeway entrance, I figured since he kept running up behind me he would want to at least stay with me getting on the freeway. I used the manual mode and opened it up all the way through 2nd and 3rd, I let up as I shifted to 4th and had to wait for him to catch up. I didn't know it was a V8 until I let him pass.
