2005 G35 - 300bhp!

Just got done talking to my salesguy at Peninsula Infiniti and I asked him about the 2005 G35. He said that the higher ups at Infiniti have been saying they are targeting to make 300bhp out of the engine for the G35 coupe and 6MT sedan for 2005 along with an upgraded interior.

He also said the new M35/45 will be coming out (Fuga concept) and the 35 engine will be this 300bhp unit. So exciting things are definetly in the works. He said he thinks they are a bit optomistic with the 300bhp as he doesn't think they can squeez that much power out of it even with an upgraded intake and exhaust. This leads both him and I to believe they might also up compression and/or increase the rev limit.

Any thoughts?

I've already seen 12mpg on occassion on my car. I'm thinking it'll be south of a GMC Yukon -- Chevy/GM's actually getting pretty good (comparatively) with mileage on their larger engines and heavier vehicles.

well, let's see, the 350z engine makes 287hp, i would think it wouldn't be that hard to find 13 more hp...

Let's hope the morons fix that front seat!!!

I don't know how you people who get 12-15 mpg drive - but even with chirping the tires on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift and driving like a bat out of hell - my worst has been 19 mpg and I'm averageing 23-24... I'm damn sure it's not the car that's responsible....

Hey Fzy! I get 17mpg average with only city driving and that is non-aggresive driving. Is this normal?

Been getting about 12mpg (city).. the same as my V8 5000lb Land Rover. Then again, they give us that nasty "winter" gas with ethonol and it kills the mpg.

Gas Mileage - Never below 20... no matter how hard I drive it, usually 23-24 highway and city. If I am crusiing to Cali and keep between 75& 85 I see 25-26.

My gas mileage is similar. Despite the recent spell of bitter cold, the worst I have seen is 17 mpg (city, short commute, bitter cold). Normal city driving yields 20-22 mpg (mostly single) and highway mileage has been around 25-27 mpg (with passengers and luggage). Overall, I am satisfied with the gas consumption, particularly considering my car's odometer underestimates mileage by about 5% on summer tires.

11-12 MPG in town is the best I can do, but maybe I'm still in the breakin period at 1,500 miles

Number6,

Yeah your in the breakin period. Your gas mileage will get better. Driving hard in the city, I usaully get 17- 18 mpg. I get significantly better mileage onthe highway at constant speeds.

Where do I sign................. Thanks for the notification. I love my rare Green G35 but more ponies under the hood is a super plus. Maybe bump the engine up to 3.8 liters maybe 4.0. Hmmm my lease is up around that time so maybe another G or the Fuga or M45. We'll see. I am definitely INTERESTED.

How do you determine your mileage? These guys who use the Navi, are probably getting the really only accurate mileage readings, 11-12 sounds way too low IMO!

My mileage is from the navi. Great feature, I love the leaf telling the instantaneous mileage.

Re: 2005 G35 - 300bhp!

I think it has been determined that the Navi gives 1-2 more miles
per gallon then actual. Try to confirm the Navi values by recording
how many miles on the odometer and actual gallons used to fill
the tank. Since you spent the extra money for the navigation, Infiniti
wants you to be happier than those of us who didn't fork out the extra cash. LOL
