Recently I just discovered a weird sound that pops out from my 2005 G. The sound comes out when I first shift to D from P and start driving forward for a short distance. Then the sound will come out, but there is no apparent reduction in RPM or the speed of the car. It sounds like a spring bouncing or gears slipping. Does anyone know what this might be? Please help, thanks.

It's an automatic self test of the ABS brake system. Normal.

Yay, that is what I was wondering, ABS. However, each time I start driving the sound seems to become louder and louder. Is it normal?

Agree, sounds like ABS which is a normal safety check for the braking system.

If your really worried about it, get it checked at the stealership.

I have an 2005 and have similar symptoms you have. This rubbing/buzzing sound comes around 3-4 MPH just after first starting off in drive and only seems to last less than a second. It seems like a normal thing with these cars to have the ABS self test. Does anyone know what it is testing?
