Super Pissed

AHHHH, I got to vent!

I bought a set of m45 19" sport wheels for my 04 G35 sedan. I have been trying to find a good set of these at a decent price for over 6 months. Well I go today to get them installed at a shop with a new set of tires. I wait about 30 min. into the operation and something in the back of my mind tells me to go check and see how its going getting the tires on the wheels. I come back and find this:

on 2 of the wheels all around the outside edges.

The guy that was installing them said, "wow this black stuff is really hard to come off." I felt it and it was down to the bare metal. The guy just kept on installing the tires even after seeing the damage that it was doing. All in all he completely ruined 2 of the wheels. So they will be buying me 2 new wheels. They kept the 2 wheels they messed up.

The thing is what pisses me off most though is that I have a commitment with a forum member to buy my current Axis Matrix wheels, who now I have let down due to someone elses ignorance.

i'm glad you made them buy you two new wheels....they could of just reverse mounted them to keep the face from any damage...thats how we used to mount tires to custom wheels that came through the dealership i worked at.

I would be more than a bit upset, as well. Hopefully, you get the replacement wheels without much issue. Good luck . . .

It's because of incidents like this that I am soooo paranoid when getting tires put on. Even when you tell them "please be careful with these rims" they still seem to fvck something up

Good luck. Glad you at least got them to buy you new ones without extra hassle.

I have a very close friend who works for discount tire and is the only person who I let touch my wheels. I would kill if someone messed up mine.

the shop I went to F'ed me over, they repainted them and tried to give them back to me as new wheels. I could tell they where the same wheels because there was dirt on the inside of the wheel from being used. They finally admitted to it. They said that repainting it is all they can do, and that they can't help me anymore and basically the regional manager shoved me out the door. So I talked with the regional manager some more and I threatened sending all my info to the president of the company, the BBB, and all local media and my lawyer. Finally after 30 min I was able to get $600 out of them for the two wheels they messed up. Anyways I went Friday and get them mounted and balanced and put them on. Then I noticed on the 2 wheels they messed up, the paint was already coming off. So I am pissed all over again, and can't really do anything.

BTW the company is RIMCO in High Point, NC. The are a sub-company of Arron's.
