I have to say that since its coming from you G35Papa Im going to do it. Your ride is one of the best on this site. Not to mention you have been alot of help for me since I joined this site.
Oh and the body shop will be using an adhesive promoter primer before laying on the paint.

Thanks Tire_Smoke

The guy that has done all my paint work has always stressed the need for a solid base/foundation for the paint to stick too. He did my rear bumper over 2 years ago and I have not seen any signs of cracking, fading, chipping...

Since you are getting other parts painted, you might as well get everything you can done, if budget permits. It's cheaper since they will be filling up the paint gun with your color anyways.

It's going to look awesome once you get it all done.

A friend of mine owns a car paint shop. It is state of the art. He charges about $3000+ for a car show quality on a normal vehicle. I think it is very expensive, but one of the main reasons he charges so much is because he stripe a lot of the parts off to prevent overspray on panels. I am not sure about the paint he uses, but it alone costs about $700 for the amount to do one car.

WOW get this I am getting the Areo bumper tomorrow right? Well I will only be paying $400 for them, it is ready for paint and never been used! But the inserts are not included. Does anyone have any ideas? TTRANK do you still have yours? I would love to have them!

Oh and yes the mirrors will be color matched! wooo hooo!

TTRANK I noticed that your door handles are painted! WOW, I wonder if that would look good on my Garnet Fire. I am also considering having the side moldings taken off of the doors. Can I get some input guys?

I think I've up my post count by like 30 on this thread alone

Ttranks handles are actually vinyl overlays. (hope you don't mind me steppin in Tim).

You're basically doing what I will be doing come spring. I was almost ready to do the handles and remove the moldings but decided to just hold off till spring.

For the handles, you need to remove the door panel and the metal skin to get to the 2 x 10mm bolts holding the handle section. That's where I stopped. You will still need to disengaged the cable and then take apart the door handle assembly to get the handle itself. Basically, you will need to either pay to have them do this x4 or do it yourself.

Moldings - there are 2 holes per door that will need to be filled. When I got an estimate done, my paint dude said if the holes were too close to the sides of the doors, he would want to take it into the fenders so the paint would blend more evenly. Basically paint the whole side of the car.

How about painting the roof black?

lol, like how I spend your money?

Oh yea, I told Extreme paint and body about that and Allen agreed that would look great with the grill too. Of course leaving the emblem chrome. I am also considering the 350GT skyline badging.

but hey how about making your spokes gold G35Papa?

lol, can I have some of your money?

My money is reserved already for future mods...all tied up
