Help: Low tire pressure warning
Help: Low tire pressure warning
I just picked up my G35s 2 weeks ago. I immediately put on some TireRack winter wheels/tires that I ordered. They are 16x7.5 rims with 215/60/16 Blizzak WS-50s. Today after ~30 minutes on my way into the Pentagon this morning, the low pressure warning came on. I was cruising ~75mph. I thought that the pressure sensor was in the wheel....I assume that my replacement wheels didn't come with any sensors.....what's the deal? Did it come on because it didn't get a reading after 30 minutes? Oh, it also did the exact same thing on the way home. I felt all 4 tires as soon as I pulled into the driveway and none of them were even warm, let alone hot.
Re: Help: Low tire pressure warning
You've hit the nail on the head. Your aftermarket rims don't have the Infiniti sensors in them, and the light comes on because the system can't take a reading.
Re: Help: Low tire pressure warning
I thought the sensor system was smart enough to sense that no sensors were present (like when you swap rims) and disable the system?
I'd wait and see if it goes away in a couple days - if not, maybe call your dealer and explain this to them. Many people have swapped rims with winter tires and have no issues, so it may be a problem with the receiver or somethign else in your car.

Re: Help: Low tire pressure warning
What I really want to know is how you manage to drive 75mph anywhere near the Pentagon in the morning!!! You must get up much earlier than me to beat the usual traffic!
How much did you pay for the winter wheels/tires package?
