Arrow New member - looking for a G35 - things to consider?

Hey, just joined the forum today. I currently drive a 2003 Dodge SRT4 but I am considering trading in my car for a 2005 G35 sedan. It's hard to find a car that performs similar to the SRT4 for around the same price.

Any advice as to what I should look for in purchasing a G35?

I plan on getting a 2005 sedan, fully loaded. Can anyone give me some input on the stock sound system and navigation system? What are the differences between 2003-2005?

Thanks guys.

If the vehicle has the bose sound system, don't be surprised if after you set treble and bass to 5 (5 is maximum for both) it will reset to 0 even if 5 is displayed after you shut down and restart your vehicle. As for sound, I don't think its all that great and it depends on what music or how the recording was made. Sometimes I feel this thing does not even have a subwoofer and other times it sounds great,,, I wish infiniti would have offered an adjustable EQ instead of the standard treble and bass on this car.

The 03/04 has some issues that they fixed in 05. The 05-06 is a great car and you will love it.

Its noteworthy that 03-04 are the only years compatable with the Nismo (aero) factory body kit.

Thats the exact reason i got an 04 rather than a newer one. 05 and newer only have the option of a lip that i think looks like *** comparitavely

Picked mine up monday, I LOVE IT!!

See my thread, this place is a great resource

Comming from a Supercharged 99 Si and an 01 1.8t chipped jetta

the G is both luxurious and fast

well if you do get an 05, be sure that they fixed the rear axle bolts. its common for it to come loose, but if it happens down the line, it'll be no prob, they'll fix it. i think their speakers are pretty good, i dont even have premium or bose speakers or the bose head unit, and i love the stock setup. it sounds very nice inside, but when you get to volume lvl 20, while driving it gets a bit distorded. at least for me. i cant speak about the premium system.

if your wondering about the lip, you have two choices to choose from now. the stock oem one(which most of us have on our 05-06) or a new one that one of members got from a different company. pm da_mayor and he'll hook you up.

Appreciate the input guys.

Any other problems I should know about? Things to look for when checking out the car in person? Does the stock navigation system suck? Not worth it?

Thanks again.

Love my G, 03-04 in dash cd changers have issues of CD's getting stuck. My engine is stock, and I beat my bosses new 300C (not SRT).
Next weekend new 19 staggered SEVAS S10, lowering 1 to 1.5, new rotros, pads, and clears, LED upgrades, will have new pics then

Any suggestions on the lowering height
