Engine Vibration at certain RPM
Engine Vibration at certain RPM
My car has some slight vibration around 1500-1800 rpm range. This is quite slight and the car does not have to be in gear and moving to feel it. It can in neutral and when I rev the engine between rpm of 1500 and 1800 I can feel it on the steering wheel and Auto transmision handle. If you keep the rpm set at say 1700 you can feel it perhaps the most and it goes away around 2000rpm. You can feel it while driving to be but its than more mixed with road noise vibration and a little more difficult to distinguish.
Anyone have similar experience. I talked to the guy at Frontier Infiniti and he sat with me in the car and listened to it and said he feels its normal. I guess he wants to be blow me off. He told me experience with other 2003 G35 sedan its normal.
Anyone with with 2003 G35 sedan have similar experience?
Thanks

Re: Engine Vibration at certain RPM
I have the similar symptom. In my case, I felt small vibration in the gas pedal while driving at 40 mph (around 1400-1700 rpm). Now, I put 2000 miles on my car and I am trying to get used to this vibration. However, recently I found another issue. The engine gets really rough at low rpm before it warms up. Do you have this issue (rough engine right after it starts) too? Regarding the gas pedal vibration I reported it to "www.edmund.com" check the Car Discussions/Infiniti/Problems & Solutions. There are several other postings. I moved those here:

Re: Engine Vibration at certain RPM
Ok at least I know that I am not alone.
Initially when I posted about this vibration a few said to take it to dealer that got me concerned something is wrong ( ihad bought it used with 20k on it) although the dealer said its normal for what it is worth.
The vibration can be noticed during driving too between the 1400-1700 rpm when you are cruising around 40mph but you can also notice the rough band when in idle when you rev the rpm. Have you also noticed your automatic shifter **** and the steering also can feel this vibration??
What do you mean by rough when cold. Mine is a kind of loud when you first start it and the rom starts around 1800rpm and then goes down slowly. I think it is not really all over the place I will try to notice it next time though. My idle which is around 650rpm is kind of rough though I expect it to be more stable for 6 cyl . The rpm goes up and down a little but not much around +/- 50rpm.
