Stop bragging about road racing
Re: Stop bragging about road racing
Just asking questions here and do not take it any other way.
If in teaching these so called "Ricers" a lesson you happen to kill yourself or someone else or injure yourself or someone else, is it worth it?
Wouldn't it be better to teach them not to race on the streets?
Have fun driving but don't do it irresponsibly where it endangers yourself or others.
Andrew, We Miss and Love You! Peace!

"Don't get me wrong I like speed as much as the next person, maybe more sometimes. But even before Andrew had his accident (Not racing BTW) I think twice before I do anything and even then still think about how I drive."
Merlin,
Well said.
While I think that we should enjoy our cars, there's a difference between driving 10 MPH over the limit on a modern freeway and racing someone at 70 MPH down a two-lane road. Every time I catch myself pushing the envelope, I think about the people who might be affected by an accident, and I slow down.
I see the results of car wrecks each day at work. Are some of these accidents unavoidable? Probably. But many are the result of poor judgment, whether it's inappropriate speed for the road conditions, drugs or alcohol, or non-use of seat belts.

Re: Stop bragging about road racing
like i said, i do not race on busy streets. my races usually dont last more than a few second. as soon as i feel like im winning or losing i shut it down and drive normally.

Re: Stop bragging about road racing
Well to summarize my previous post, we need more alternative legal options for street racing. Here in Canada where i live the closest drag strip is like a good 50 km away which isnt the most convienient distance. I m not sure how the US is with the number of drag strips available but i believe government should be playing a bigger role in promoting safe alternatives.
