Gas tank problem...
So i'm driving and my check engine soon light comes on....I do a search on here and come to find out most peoples problems have to do with the gas cover not being screwed on tightly enough.
I go to check to see if its screwed on tightly enough....and its not even on .
Little embarrassing, forgot to screw it on i guess. But when I look at the part where you stick in the nozzle to fill up? That metal gas door thingy is missing. The one that you push the nozzle of the gas filler through? Its like half an inch by half an inch small metal circle that covers the pipe that goes into the gas tank. It isn't there anymore ?!!?. Did it fall in? wth! I can see all the way down the tube.
Or am I going insane? Help anyone? How do you loose that??!!?

Check the pipe underneath the car if it maybe fell inside, or maybe you really did drive off with the nozzle in the car. it happens
