Should I buy my friend's 18X8.5/18X9.5 Weds Farma Mesh wheels?

My friend recently sold his GS400 and he has a set of Weds Sport Farma mesh wheels. They're 18s, 8.5 in the front and 9.5 in rear. It's my understanding that these are $2,500 rims. Since the GS400 has basically the same OEM offsets and GS owners use G/Z wheels all the time, I would assume the rims will "fit". The overall wheel/tire diameter should be correct for my G. I am a bit concerned about rear fender clearance though. The wheel widths are a bit more than I was considering, but I'm sure it will look healthy. The car will definitely be slower with the much wider rims/tires, but I'm not concerned about that on the street. I'll post some pics of wheels tomorrow when I put them up against my G. I also need to measure the offsets.

Too big. I don't like the huge wheel look nor do I like the 19" tire prices. The roads in Kansas City are too harsh for 19s too.

You should find out the offsets since the GS uses slightly lower offsets than a G35 sedan when the wheels are flush.

Dave. You need to find out the offsets of course. AND if the wheels are hubcentric to Toyota/Lexus. If they are, then they won't fit as they use smaller hub bores. But if they use hub rings or flat out just don't rely on being hubcentric, then they might fit. At 9.5" at the rear, I assume he running like 265s-275s widths. That's getting wide and you will have to watch the offsets closely.

Here is a pic of my coupe 19s 19x8.5" I think. running 245-40-19 with 30-33 mm offset.

+1

Check the inside of the wheel, it should have the offset listed. If not see what they come in.

From what I have seen 99% of all aftermarket wheels come with larger hub bore so they should be ok there with hub rings.

I dunno if you ever had a car with big rims, but I had a 90 thunderbird super coupe and it came stock with 16's and I lowered it 1.5 and had 20's w/ 245/35's and the ride wasn't bad at all and lemmie tell ya wev'e got some gnarly roads where I live, but I am always ready to sacrafice comfort for looks so maybe the ride was horrible and I was just telling myself it was fine...? naww it wasn't bad at all!

Ya but def. make sure there gonna fit perfectly!!!

I really don't think they'll fit in the back, but it's worth a shot since they're available and a pretty sweet style (2.5" rear lip). I already have my heart dead set on a some sweet rims that apparantly no one on this site has. I'll tell you guys one thing, finding rims that look "right" for a sedan is damn near impossible. Coupes are easy, but sedans are a pain. I've looked through hundreds of photos of G sedans with rims and I only saw two sets that sparked any interest for myself. It's hard to find the right rim to match the character lines of this car.

I think the iForged Aero is a perfect fit.

Just for other's reference, here is a pic (the Weds are the 4 wheels). They look a lot like the RPM's I have on my G35, just with some lip.... I attached a few pics of my ride so you can get an idea. I think this style mesh wheel flows with the G pretty well. The Enkei RPM2's are great for a 18 lb. cheap wheel. I love the Aero's, and had a set on my Z, but dealing with iForged left a bad taste in my mouth. One of the best looking wheels on the G/Z though. Dealing with those dumba$$'s again didn't appeal to me.... I threw in a pic of my Z with Aero's too (errr.... I'm bored).

Yep, those are the wheels. The finish is a bit different (satin spokes) and the rear wheels would have a lot more lip. They're pretty nice looking, but keeping them clean would be a nightmare. I'm also worried about the front tire/rim width because I've got Z springs and the front camber is a bit negative which means the wider the tire, the more the camber will chew up the tires. The rims I'm really interested in come either in an 18X8 or 18X9. I'm debating on whether or not to do a stagger or just stagger the tires slightly.
