anyone race a new nissan quest minivan yet?
Well, before it is banned, I will tell my story, albeit in an abridged form. I notice a guy coming up on a toll fast, its a new Quest 3.5. I wait to come out of the toll at the same time, and actually let the guy havethe jump on me. I notice its two guys in the car that are about 60 years old... the car has temporary plates. We juice it. There is no need to say who won, but it was funny. BTW, this took place at 12:30am with no one else neer us. The guy did keep pushing up on me fast and hard after I slowed down, I spead back up to beat him.

No reason that this will be banned unless it gets out of hand with name calling and attacking each other, like what happened with the last Thread in the Coupe Board.

Minivan??? I don't think they were trying to race you. They were probably rushing home to their wifes.

Lighten up boys. I thought it was funny. Some old guy racing in a minivan (btw it has the same engine as the altima/maxima etc, but in a vehicle that's a lot heavier)
Oh, I was also racing an 68 volkswagon mini-bus electric the other day. He was in the lead until his motor caught on fire, and he was forced to tap out. ANOTHER WIN FOR THE G35!!!!!!

the maxima/altima/murano engine has a different intake manifold (variable intake runners vs our traditional intake runner profile,) but yes, it is a VQ35DE

Ive got a mini-van in the family, and i always rev up the engine when im around sports cars. I tried racing a G35 sedan owner once, but they just lauged and weren't into it.

there used to be a guy who lived around my moms house who had an old chrystler turbo minivan which he upped the boost on and put a nitrous wet kit on. He thought it was fun to smoke the local mustang guys.
In the case of the new quest, I was really just seeing how fast they were. I couldnt beleive the guy kept on the gas up over 100, i thought he was going to do a ricer fly-by when I slowed down, but he didn't. I say kudos to him and shame on me.

Driving from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon I was following a couple of minivans cruising between 95-100mph for about an 1hr... the leader was a Honda Odessy and the trailer was a Chrysler minivan... well and me in my 4banger rental Camry... for a 4banger that thing really could move

Come on, its heavy 4000-4200lbs van goes only about 16.4 (1/4) and about 8.5s (0-60) so obvioulsy 240bhp/242tq is not enough to make it fast. It might feel fast inside the van [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img] in reality they SLOW.

I've got a G35 Sedan and because I love the engine, persuaded my wife that she should have the new '04 Quest so we bought one last month. While I wuouldn't be caught dead driving her old minivan, I don't mind driving the Quest once in a while but only when hauling the kiddies. I have frustrated a few sedans off the line thinking they would just blow by the minivan but I would never dream of racing in it. It's very difficult to say "cool" and "minivan" in the same sentence but it certainly has a cool factor other mini's don't.
