05 g35x OEM exhaust noise/tone?

I just test drove an infinti 05 g35x with 37000 miles on it. The car drives great and its in great condition too. just have a question about the exhaust.

the exhaust on the car seems very loud compared to other cars I have driven(04maxima se, 03 accord coupe). Im pretty sure the exhaust on the car is stock. What would you guys rate how loud the stock exhaust is 1-10? I would rate this car around 7. Do you guys think this is normal or there might be a problem with the exhaust system(leak/crack)? if there is a problem would this be under warranty?

thanks.

just one more question. the car has intellegent key, rear a/c vents, rear reclining seats, and the bose system. how much more would these options be when the car was brought new?

i forgot to check if the car has bluetooth. where would the bluetooth button be?

also are there anything i should look for on the 05g35x? what are the most common problems? recalls?

thanks alot guys.

I have a 05 G35X.
Yup, the exhaust is louder than the Maxima and the Accord you mentioned. It is a bit on the loud side for a luxury car. Especially while cruising; a bit of drone to it at certain RPM. You do get use to it. I find it just right in giving it a sporting character without being obnoxious. I did add a Z-tube for a bit more noise at WOT.
No Bluetooth on 05, only 06 and newer.

Totally normal. The maxima and accord are almost complete silent to me.

Your comparing a compact/midsize car to a sports sedan.

I love the sound of the stock exhaust. I also have an 05 X and I tried an HKS rear section. I found that too loud and returned to stock. I'm happy.
The premium package is what gives you all those options. I can't remember for sure but I think it was approximately a $2500 premium over the base model. And yes, bluetooth became standard in 06.

I read somewhere that the 05x came with 04-03 brakes (which have been a problem to some). Don't know if this is true as I have a sport 05 rear drive only. Maybe someone that owns one can confirm this.

the exhaust may have been modified by the previous owner. Could have a coupe midpipe in it or a different muffler ??? I could barely hear my car running with stock exhaust on.

true but still to say it's a 7 out of 10 even seems high but I'm not that familiar with the 05's either.

I'd say my 03 with a coupe midpipe is still only a 4. Not sure why mine is still so quiet. My girls with the same set up may be a 6.5

I agree with you, a 7 to some might be a 3 to others.

This is TRUE! The brakes are smaller on the 05 X versus the rear drive models. The 06 X has the larger brakes. This has not affected me. I used the original rotors for 50000 miles and changed the pads at 20000 because I wanted ceramic pads for less visible brake dust. At 50000, I changed the rotors and pads for a set from Burtman Enterprises. The pads are Akebono and I'm not sure who makes the rotors. They are slotted and drilled. I've never had squealing and I've never had vibrations from the brakes. I'm now at 55000 miles and counting. Now, perhaps I don't drive it as hard as others here.
