I'll talk to Gabe (damineg35) about what he wants to do for the sides. He was already considering getting the nismo sides, and he has a set of the mud guards.

Looking at Chicos pics he sent me. If we lower how high up the mud guard goes up on the body, and raise the sinny part that flows towards the rear of the bumper it should have the affect we're looking for of making all the pieces flow together.

Going all the way around with a piece of fiberglass would be a tricky piece, making it in poly would be way more than I think it is worthwhile. Just my opinion, keep the ideas coming guys. I'm willing to try some different things with you guys to have good options for you but it's got to be ideal for everyone.

Has anyone tried to modify the nismo rear to fit the 05-06? Auto Explosion is great at making stuff fit that wasn't really intended to fit, just not sure if anyone else has already tried it or not.

I'm not a designer but I keep staring at the 05/06rear and I don't see how I can fit a rear piece without having to lower/modify my exhaust more. What do you guys think? Modified splash guards seem the best option to me.

A little crude MS paint work but how's this.

Areas you guys don't like. Mud/splash guard too high up on the wheel well arch, and the little extra panel that could be hidden.

Raise your black valance line to go wider and go higher up for an aero affect. Have the splash guards end at the valance line. If the valance line is widen, the splash guards shouldn't need to wrap around the bumper much if at all. It would be trying to get closer to the coupes rear valance design.

^^ that's exactly why I took mine off. I tried to find someone in my area that would try to mould them into the body of the car, but no luck. FWIW, the rear of the '06 - '05 is longer by at least 1" and wider than the '03 - '04 sedans. I know this as my HKS muffler that I had on my old '03 fit perfectly aligned with the rear bumper, but when I put it on my '05, it had to be extended by 1" to make it look right. Something to consider for anyone adding anything to the rear.

The 05-06 rear bumper literally looks like it integrated most of the nismo rear ( the extra bulge along the lower instead of the black) It just didn't fill the lines on the rear quarter/ bumper/ and odd ball panel at the bottom.

The Kenstyle spats are a good example of what would work for the rear bumper take a look at these. should be cheap to produce...

I dig it. Your black valance line is much lower than the coupes, as well as the 07s. How do you guys feel about painting the line higher? It would make sense to me to follow the line of the modified splash guard all the way around.

painting more of our rear bumper grey would work but I'm sure blue bat wouldn't mind making something for us to take care of that. Another option would be a 3 piece rear valance the modified side splash guards and an apron to go across the back bumper with wind diffusers and mesh it would make the rear just as agressive looking as the front. sort of simular to the current TL type S factory aero kit

I'd do it...but I agree with Perry's idea to ask Andy (bat) to make something for us. It looks simple enough and he's local to you and Grant. BTW, I'll measure it later today when I get home...it's snowing here right now.

I'll talk to andy this weekend and see if he can do the extension overlay of the rear valence As for the extended rear splash gaurds... what if we do something similar to the nismo "wings" for the coupe? of course we'll make them flow with the front and the nismo sides. and instead of having them fall off the back of the bumper, make them curve with it and extend to the rear valence. that's the best idea i can come up with.

^ That's an even better idea because these could screw in place of where our splash gaurds mount and we can add 3M double sided tape and call it a day an easy DIY modd.

Hey Chico, can you measure with a tape measure from the corner of the sidemarker (towards the headlight) to the lowest point of the bumper with the lip?
This would pretty much answer the height question.
hey Viet...it measures exactly 17.50"

Cool, I think I measured 18" on Gabe's revised so it should work out pretty nicely with the Nismo sides, since the nismo sides are a bit lower than the lip kit
