My bad luck story! Any tips?

Alright, well my G35 4dr flooded while I was at school. The water seaped into the interior around the lip of the door entrance. I've got the premium (memory seats and bose) and very quickly I found that the memory seat module is located on the floor! of the driver seat. That quickly became inoperable as I couldn't pull the car's battery wire fast enough. I would have to say that would be one of the smartest things you could do....disconnect battery wire and let the car dry for several several days possibly weeks.

Well, car flooded then went through the run around with the dealership on getting it fixed quickly, though insurance was realllllly helpful. Just literally got the car back last week. Car smells like a flood car...im alternating using ozium, coffee beans, and baking soda to get the smell out. All the things that were not working are functioning now which were the Left turn signal, hazards, driver seat recline motor, memory seat module. Thankfully those things were fixed. Though after having it for a few days, I've found a few more problems that weren't there before at all! Car engine will not turn over on the first few times but will start say after the 3rd try. There is NO sound of a start struggling...its complete silence. After turning the key several times the car will start.....strange. Soemtiems the car just starts on the first try.

As soon I as picked up the car at the dealership I checked out the radio, clicked on a cd then another cd then BOOM. Stereo made some mechanical whirring noises and then I got "CD ERR FO". I had no idea what that was so I drove home and researched. Apparently, the cd player is jammed and I've also noticed that my volume in general is much weaker than before. I would never be able to go up to 31, which I believe is the max anyway, in fear of the speakers going to pop. Now it sounds as if volume rises all the way up to about 24 and then just stays the same volume although the number rises. HAS ANYBODY ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS? ALSO OF NOTE, MY BOSE ND-WOOFER JUST DOES NOT WORK ANY MORE! I can put my hand on it and I don't feel any shaking or bass. WTF??? I did some research and found that other G35 owners have had a similar experience where if the car is left unused for days, weeks, etc. then the Bose AMP will apparently drain the battery. I don't know how exactly that could be connected with my situation but I would really like to know!

I got tires replaced today and a friggin wheel stud BROKE off! Geez, gotta get that repaired.

Not to mention, the few rust marks the powerfully magnetized attachment stop lights the tow truck put on my roof when it was towed. And not to mention, the friggin tow truck literally DROPPING my car only a few feet from its destination. Thankfully it was dropped from like 3-5 feet in the air. The car was jacked from the rear and the guy made a really tight turn at like 5mph and it was so tight that it popped the rear off of the jack and fell down from a height of like a foot. Still really friggin gay!!!!

PLEASE, PEOPLE LET ME KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT THE STEREO SITUATION. I don't necessarily mind the starter situation but the stereo makes me a bit more sad for some reason. I want to be able to jam to my music, not insanely high to blow out the speakers, just like i used to all the way up to the point the car got flooded. The other speakers seems to be function correctly but 1) volume doesn't seem to go as high as before. 2)Nd-woofer is not working. I believe that the woofer is not blown out....I really hope that the techs or whoever didnt blast the music itself and blow it out.....
The insurance said that I could find a comparable system and calc the cost and that they would pretty much cover it. I don't know what it is...I just want the stock system back. I don't want anythign really aftermarket....the only thing I would want is like an Infinitiy Basslink.

Man, all that crap has happened, but I just can't give up the car...it has a place in my heart

I sort of think I shldve "totaled" the car and got something else. But it wouldn't be worth it cuz i wouldve gotten like 20k. I just simply want a G.

That sucks bro. It seems like your car is falling apart on you, and you should just get a new one. The stereo thing should be under warranty. Mine was and i got it fixed. Its a common problem among Infinitis and Nissans.

Honestly, it sounds like the car should have been totaled. Not sure if you will ever get the car back to the way it was before...

As for the stereo, I would take it back to the dealer. If you take it anywhere else, they are not going to want to take the time to fix a stock Bose system and will try to just upgrade everything...

Best of luck to you. Sorry to hear about all this...

Yeah, I tend to agree that the car probably should have been totalled. Flood cars are bad because the electronics get messed up (and once one thing is messed up, its all messed up), the car starts to rust, and the interior never smells the same.

Just wondering, how did it flood? How high was the water?

If the speakers got flooded, they need to be replaced. That could account for the low volume. You might as well take the opportunity to get some decent ones in there. The BOSE speakers suck anyway.

damn man

sorry to hear that. I would have perferred the car totaled. What did your insurance pay for to be fixed or worked on. Kinda sounds like you got screwed. I would think they would at least pull the carpet out and dry or replace it. How deep was the water in the car. Not that it matters I don't know. That just sucks. Similar to havieng a bad wreck and the car is repaired. Maybe worse ???

Wow man i would be pissed.. Theirs nothing like having a list of repairs to bring down the high the G gives you. I hate when i have things that need to be fixed it pisses me off. The list never stops, it looks like this flooding will only make things worse for you and things will start to go even faster. I guess this is what happends when you have a nice DD. **** happends to it to make it not as nice and really puts me in a mood atleast. Really makes me want to invest in a beater.

Good luck with your G
