Well it has been almost 3 months that I have been waiting for my 2004 G35 6MT sedan that I ordered on December 1st...and despite the fact that the dealer can't give me any information as to the arrival of my car, I know for a fact it will arrive next week...because of Murphy's Law (Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong and at the worst possible time.) You see I was jumping on a trampoline with my 8-year-old daughter last Sunday wearing socks. I slipped and my left knee buckled tearing several ligaments for which I will require reconstructive surgery next week. So that is why I know my new 2004 G35 6MT sedan will arrive in the near future, because I won't be able to drive it for several weeks. :-(

Never too late to go for the automatic instead of manual. Anyway - good luck with the surgery.

4dsc - I too can relate to your anticipation of your new G...I too ordered my 2004 Sedan in December...(actually November but the order didn't go in until December)...I am still waiting for mine. You can call your dealer and find out if they have a VIN for your car and then call Infiniti and ask them if the car is on the boat yet. I am waiting for my dealer to get back to me with the VIN.
Good luck with surgery....and I personally would keep the 6MT...

Sorry to hear about your accident! What a bummer! Best of luck with your surgery and rehab!
BTW: I too have a Dec order, and my dealer told me yesterday he has the VIN. Would you please post the phone number to call for shipping info? Thanks in advance! Skiv

Bummer about your knee 4dsc. Went through similar rehab myself last year. The good news is the clutch pedal will be excellent therapy!

I just read my owner's manual cover to cover and it didn't have one warning about jumping on a trampoline in socks. I don't see any technical service bulletins about this but I still think the dealer should cover your surgery under your warranty and then give you an AT loaner for your recovery. Also you may want to change your poster ID from "4dsc" to "1newACL"
J/K buddy. Sorry bout the spill. Hope your recovery is rapid as your new G will be!

Ouch! - Hey Austin I like your take on the subject. An interesting thing - come and get your G's in Canada. The US dealers are playing games. I decided to get mine Dec12 and it arrived Dec20 - and in fact I checked with 3 dealers and each had inventory, of whatever combination I wanted. I went for the 6MT, Aero, Prem -Nav. Get better soon, because you need to get shifting.
I'm in no hurry to get my new G35 sedan 6MT at this point considering my injury and upcoming surgery. I actually hope my G doesn't come for another month so it won't add insult to injury by just sitting in the garage. I've had several "friends" offer to break it in for me ;-). I currently have a 1990 Maxima SE 5MT so on my return to work in 2 weeks, Ill either rent a car with an AT or drive my wife's Honda Pilot. If I drive her Pilot, however, that means she has the kids in my new G (assuming Murphy's Law holds true) and being a rather Type A individual, I'm not sure I could handle the kid mess in my new car! Eating in my 14 year old Maxima is one thing...but not in the new G. No way could I change my order to an AT. No offence to you AT drivers but once you've driven an MT, you just can't go back!

I hear you, NO WAY I would go with an auto, I hate the way they always try and 2nd guess you, and how they never actually shift at the right time. In fact my first consideration when buying a car is what models come in stick and then I go from there.
My kids mess in the rear too, no food but at this time of the year, the salty boots and general mess gets rubbed onto the back of the front seats (kids are 6 & 3). Still does not matter I got my sports car and they got their family sedan - figure its a good compromise - youll enjoy yours too!!
