Howdy... Just got me a 05 G35X... Warranty Question

Just bought an 05 G35X with ~30K miles on it. The car was put into service in June of 2005 initially so that means it's got the factory bumper/bumper until June 0f 2006 of 60K miles (whichever comes first). Anything I have to do to "activate" or transfer the warranty over to me?

On another note... Just how noisy should the engine be? The car performs fine but the engine noisy is just soooo loud.

Congrats on the G purchase. You don't need to do anything to transfer the warranty over as the warranty is automatically transferable to the next owner (as long as it is active).

As far as the engine issue goes, can you provide more detail on what the noise actually sounds like? A video or sound clip would help out

Godmans posted a soundclip/video that's close to my engine noise

Here...

It's the grumbling/vibration that I'm a little concerned with. Almost sounds like the muffler is missing... I'm not sure if I find it pleasant... yet.

My most recent cars were a BMW 325i (straight 6), an Audi A6 (v6), VW passat 1.8T (Turbo 4)... The infiniti is by far the loudest of the bunch. Now I'm not averse to engine noise but the pitch/tone just seems like the engine is straining vs letting loose.

the bumper to bumper warranty is 4 years, not one year.

Duh... of course. June of 2009. It's not likely that I'll be able to drive 30K miles between now and then so I'm all set.

Is Infiniti fussy about the bumper to bumper? Like one needs to have the vehicle serviced through them with tidy service records, fight tooth/nail to avoid doing "arguable" items and such?

Now that I've had the car for a week or so I've got several items I want them to check out and address:
  • center console armrest storage latch not engaging fully so the armrest moves up and down with a clicking noise
  • rear deck trim popped loose from c-pillar
  • excessive engine noise/vibration (this one maybe normar, but I just want to have it checked out)
  • some front end vibration felt through steering wheel
  • groan coming from the front end during tight but slow speed cornering

that depends on the dealer itself. I remember taking my car to the dealer and he was nice enough to address all of my concerns... plus a few things on his own and fixed it all under warranty. Remember... they get paid by infiniti so its not to their advantage to fight small stuff with the owner.

^ +1. i have had no problem getting warranty repairs done, including a tranny and clutch.

if something is not working properly, document it and have the dealer repair it on your next service. and don't take "no" for an answer. but as mentioned above, most dealers don't fight - they are getting paid for their work.
