Yes they do and that is a good place to loose some weight.

These are one of the best.

Not sure if we have steel or aluminum driveshafts but if we have steel this might be a good option. Thanks ttrank for the link,, didn't know about them.

I heard somewhere that the sedan is actually lighter then the coupe. Because the coupe has no B-pillars it has to have stiffer (heavier) doors. Is this true?

i have seen the numbers showing similarily equipped, that the sedan was about 80lbs lighter than the coupe both on here and other technical information sites.

The earlier years 03-04 sedans were quite a bit lighter than the coupe. As you get newer the difference goes down. I think the 06's were within ~50-80 lbs.

But yes, the sedan is lighter than the coupe.

No, he knows they're the same speed. Handling is better on the coupe though.

In general, the stuff fsas wants to do with his car makes no sense, considering he coulda just bought a 350z... no rear seats, lighter, faster, better handling

I understand the benefits of weight reduction but for these cars I hardly think the minimal benefit is worth making a big mess of such a nice car.

A 4 door car with no back seat ???????????? should have got a used vette or something similar.

is there any modification needed to fit the coupe mid pipe or 350z mid pipe on a 05 sedan? no extension or anything?

^ The 350z mid pipe needs an extension , IIRC 6inchs

Coupe mid pipe is a direct fit.

If the sedan weighs less than the coupe, how do you figure the coupe handles better?

I bought my 04 sedan with a set of 17" kosei k1's. They are the same size and offset as stock 17's (17x7 +45mm offset). They weigh 14lbs, so that right there is a huge difference.

Kosei's are on the cheaper side, I would look into them if I were you.

Let me guess, you car is 100% bone stock.

I've seen coupes reduce weight and end up under 3000 lbs. That would be a significant benefit in performance, especially since the sedan is lighter to begin with.
