I mean its not as sharp as the Coupe, but its very nice looking too! I am sick of hearing people calling the sedan ugly and the coupe awesome. The coupe guys will tell it to your face that the sedan is butt ugly!

Grrr.

 

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - be confident in what you like - I think my sedan is great and sharp looking.

What bothers me much more are the folks who think that the coupe is something much more special and quite different mechanically and otherwise.

 

Well it's a sedan, and it's hard for most people to find a sedan 'sexy'. Although the G sedan is as close as you can get right from the factory. With a few mods it can really look sweet.

I have yet to read a review from objective car professionals that say the sedan is ugly. Quite the opposite in that all have praised the looks. And I certianly agree as have countless people who have commented on it MULTIPLE times.

Most criticism comes from coupe owners (G35 and others), but most of that is comparing the coupe to the sedan. As in, the sedan is ugly compared to the sedan. For whatever reason some coupe owners (not just Gs) think they are above 4 doors.

I had to have a 4 door for practical reasons (money and family), but I also prefer it because I don't want the "boy toy" look and the classy sports sedan look fits better with my lifestyle right now.

Don't let it get to you. Like what you want and anybody that says anything negative to your face just doesn't understand or is an ahole.

It's an opinion and just like aholes everybody has one. Just because you like pepperoni pizza and I don't means nothing. For somebody to think that because they have different ideas than you makes them better...well they'll learn the hard way sooner or later!

To each his own. As I've said many times before, I prefer "sleepers". When a coupe pulls up next to a competitor, they think "ooh, that's gonna be hard to beat". When the sedan pulls up, they don't think so. So when the sedan does hand them their a$$, it's something special [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

It doesn't take genius to make a great-handling, well-powered coupe. Every company makes one. It takes a lot more finesse to give comparable performance numbers to a much more practical vehicle... I'd take an M5 over a Z3/8 any day. The G was initially released as a sedan and took the automotive world by storm- cover of every magazine. Why? Because it kicked the venerable 330, the TL-S, the IS/ES300s, etc. square in the tail. It created a new, go-to-hell sports sedan that no one could beat. When the coupe premiered, it was lumped into the luxo-coupe segment, in which it only has a price advantage. Still a damn stylish car, but it's out there attracting Mustangs and Cameros for comparos. Eh...

Oh-- and to answer your question as to why people call it ugly: Arguments over subjectivity are the last bastion of those weak in logos. In other words, if you don't have the facts to make a real argument, you just tell people they have no taste in something completely subjective. It aggravates everyone, and doesn't progress the debate.

Nothing makes me happier than rolling down the street with a line of Gs-- coupe, sedan, AT, MT, red, blue, black, catholic, jewish.. oh wait, back that one up a bit. Anyway, I love em all.

I've seen so many ugly (mostly american) cars out there that I'm hard pressed to believe that a significant amount of people think the G sedans are ugly! That is a harsh word.
Im sure that there are some people out there who think, say Cameron Diaz isn't that pretty...but no one would say she was ugly!
What makes an ugly car to me is abrupt lines , garish and disproportioniate features (like a person, i guess) ...but the G sedan is sleek and has such CLEAN lines! its the most subtle and understated styled sedan out there in my opinion.
I bought the g35x not only coz it fits my lifestyle but for the looks too, and theres no way i wouldve bought this car if it was anything close to ugly. =D

The people that call the sedan ugly are ugly themselves.

It's sort of a reversed narcicism. They see their reflections in a freshly Zaino'd G35 sedan and are just can't stop realizing how insanely ugly THEY are.

It actually has nothing to do with the car.

When the sedan first came out, I was hooked. Even after the coupe was released, I knew I wanted the sedan. It was (and still is) a great looking car. But what sold me was the rear of the car...those tail lights just looked so damn cool to me w/ those LED's. I even liked the doggy door. No, I'm serious, I like the doggy door.

Then my gf said she thinks the rear of my car is ugly and huge, like a big a$$. I swear, I was so pissed I almost didn't give her any that night...

The coup is pretty, but sporty pretty, if you will. The sedan is handsome, DAMN HANDSOME. All I know is if I had another car, I would drown in my own drool everytime I saw a G.

G doesn't deserve to be called ugly, but Aztek is very ugly. I love the G, and that is all I need to know. Peace!

Both cars are great but I actually prefer the looks of the Sedan over the Coupe. The Coupe looks "heavy" to me...especially the back end. My choice ended up being either a G35 Sedan or a 350Z , not something in the middle.
