Talking Timing Chain Clatter @ ~1.5k -> 2.5k ??

I hear this "new" noise from around 1.5k rpm to 2.5k rpm..
sounds like it's from the passenger side engine compartment (i am guessing that's where the timing chain is)

i can only hear it when everything is off.. and i accelerate slowly (quietly)

is this normal? or is something worng with the chain tensioner (if there is one) ???

Timing chain is on the front of an engine(facing radiator), not on the passenger or drivers side.
Something else is probably the culprit.

i feel you man. after a few months of getting my car and modifying it, I've heard the same metal chattering noise everytime i begin to accelerate. I think it might be coming from the axle or tranny or something like that. but it paranoys me whenever i hear it...like something is about to break or come loose. maybe its a bolt or something?

I hear something weird on the passenger side at around 6k. It sounds like a whine and not a chatter. I have no engine mods though. Just a polished plenum. Debating on taking it to the dealer, but they never seem to understand anything about cars. You have to hold their hand and walk them through it.

It's funny how everything always seems to be fine when you show a tech. It drives me nuts when that happens.
