Hey guys, i'm new to this site. I just picked up a 03 g35 sedan. I was wondering if anyone knew what the slip light meant or the vcd light meant. Also how to get rid of them and the service engine soon light.

Sounds like you've got problems only a dealer can handle.
Do a search for answers to all your questions. That's how I learned.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase. For check engine light problems I highly advise taking your car to a local Autozone or Advance Auto Parts store and get the error code diagnosed. The code scanner will output a special code and the meaning behind the code. It literally could mean anything from a small vapor leak to a cylinder misfire.

However for most of us who have experienced the check engine light in our cars, the culprit turns out to be a loose gas cap. I had that before on my G, tightened the cap real good, and a few days later the service engine soon light went away. Haven't seen it since. Good luck!

VDC is the Vehicle Dynamics Control .. AKA ... traction control and yaw control. Slip light will blink if the computer senses a condition to activate the VDC system. Spinning tires...taking a corner to fast will acitvate it. Normal can be over ran by switch on bottom left. As for the SES light you need to do AutoZone thing and have them read the code and go from there....OH and welcome to the board. There is everything on here if you look hard enough.

you mean vdc? it's the "vehicle dynamic control" button near the left of the steering wheel and the slip light means the wheels are slipping (losing traction) which many different reasons can be the culprit for that. Even with the vdc off, it can come on automatically if your car senses that it's losing control. Where did you purchase the vehicle? Its odd that the service engine light will come on if you bought it from a dealer. Either way, it definetly sounds like a dealer issue... and Welcome to the family~!

i don't think they can, they can only grab codes for you. there is a way to do service lights, eg honda do it with the odom.
