New black headlamps?

Anyone have these on their G yet? What do you think? I am thinking of purchasing these. They are a little expensive, but they look really nice. More pictures are shown at www.clearcorners.com along with the original headlamps.

Re: New black headlamps?

Do you have any good pics that show the whole front end of the car with this setup? I would like to get a feel for the overall look of this mod. Thanks.

Nevermind - I found them.....I didn't realize it had Led's all the way around the circumfrence of the lights....I will pass on these. I just thought the blacked out look might be ok by itself.

Re: New black headlamps?

to blackout your lights: (cost maybe $10)
-do it in a dry place-

- you need to remove them
- then bake them in the oven to losen up the glue
- then get a high temp paint, primer, and clearcoat.
- remove the housing and headlight assembly
- then paint
- when done put the headlight back into the oven
- bake so the glue can re-stick
- put it all back together

thats all it takes, it cost maybe $10-15. but it takes a couple of hours.

A company needs to make these housings for the people who are not diy's.

Re: New black headlamps?

they arent new headlights, its a headlight "conversion." you have to send your own headlights into them.

Re: New black headlamps?

Thank you for your response - and you are right about how someone should make them for those who are not DIY types - to a certain degree I am one of them. I would worry that by taking the lights apart I would wind up with the dreaded condensation inside of them.

After looking at more pics I do like the look from dead on, but I am not so crazy about it from the sides. I would still be a nice mod for those who like it from all angles though, thank you for posting the how to info Skyline. : )

Re: New black headlamps?

Re: New black headlamps?

you can clearcoat if you want the glossy look, instead of just a flat black.
