G35 with gas starvation

Hi,

I have an 03 6mt G35 w 74K. The last few weeks, I've parked it on an incline three times and it failed to start. The first time (nose down), I thought it was just out of gas, so I put some in and it started right away, but when I was driving it home, I noticed that the gas light was on, but it still showed some gas in the car. The next time (nose down), I backed the car up to my garage to unload some things and left it overnight. The next morning it wouldn't start (Here comes the dumbass part: I thought, "Hey, it's a manual, I'll just roll it down the hill and bump start it"). Needless to say, that didn't work, so I went and cooked myself some eggs and when I was done, I walked down the hill and the car started fine. The next day, however, with the car parked in my driveway (nose up), it wouldn't start and I damn near missed my flight. I called a cab and decided to try it once more and it finally kicked over. The car runs fine. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I bet your fuel injectors are also dirty. Try a couple of bottles of good quality fuel injector cleaner over the next few full tanks of gas. I think there are some more exotic fuel system delivery cleaning options beyond this, but this is place to start. My girlfriend's Altima did this and the injector cleaner helped it start easier.

The pump is in the forward lower part of the tank. I agree that you should always keep at least 1/8 tank in it to be safe. A can of BG K44 fuel cleaner is a good idea from time to time just to be safe. Most fuel system cleaners are just a huge waste of $ but that stuff works. I know that all the local shops around here use it and charge you ~$89 but you can buy it for ~$25 at a BG dealer.
