Talk about bad luck, what a lame night

Over the weekend in Minneapolis it snowed about 10 inches, and I wasn't quite ready for it. I have a set of snows on order, but they don't get here until tomorrow.

Last night the snow had tapered off and I thought I might venture up the street to put gas in my car as it was very, very low. I hardly ever let the gas get this low, but this particular time I had been way way down. I pulled out of my building's garage and realized there was no way I was making it up the slight incline, so I turned around to go back into the garage.

Well, the car wouldn't move worth a damn. I tried using both VDC on and off, and I had finally got some momentum going but I had to stop at the keypad to open the door back up. When I stopped, the car was stuck, again.

The rear wheel kept banging into the curb repeatedly as I was trying to get into the garage. It was awful, but at this point I figured the wheel was ruined and needed refinishing anyway, so I tried a couple more times and then the car RAN OUT OF GAS. So not only was my car stuck, my wheel was wrecked AND I was blocking the garage so no one could get in.

A friend finally came and we got some gas in the car and got in the garage, but to my dismay as I drove the car to the gas station today I noticed some constant clunking noise that comes on at about 20mph, sounds like something is hitting the muffler or something back there. The noise gets faster and louder with increasing speed. What do you guys think it could be?

PS, try and lay off the flames I know this wasn't one of my finer moments...

You poor bastard. That's really all I can say.

Get her on a lift or get underneath and see what you can see. Let us know how it comes out.

It might just be ice packed in your wheel making the noise.

Well I got my new wheels with Blizzaks mounted and its much better. The noise went away so it must have been some something frozen stuck in the wheel or something. I also took a peek under the car when I had it on the jack. I took the wheel off today, it isn't as bad as I thought, but probably still does need refinishing. Oh well, I'll deal with it in the spring.
