Perhaps getting a G35 sedan!?!?

Well I'm looking at getting a G35 Sedan 6MT. Its a 2003 with ~45k miles and in overall great shape. They are asking $16,988 for it which seems like a deal to me. There are only 2 6MT sedans in the phoenix area that I've found.... I was wondering what are some things I should look for, expect, etc. Will I have to get a new stereo to be able to use my ipod with an interface? Oh, and for the record, I hate the bumper thats on it. plus its cracked. Oh and what options do I have for getting rid of the black lower trim? Here is the car...

You can always do a nismo kit on the bumpers looks sexi. Ipod there is a cable that u can install and and let it rest in ur arm rest, lower black trim, get that painted and matched the car when you do your bumpers. And you'll be a happy owner lol

Ofcourse car fax it and also walk around the car lay under the bumpers and check the fenders for any gaps that look like they shouldnt be that close or spaced out. windows for any stickers or alarm writings on the corners. You can basically see what the car been thru. Also if you ever get under the car check on the front suspensions, it usually leaves marks on the metals around if its been in any bad accidents =]

just my 2 cents =] car reallly looks clean tho =)

O, wow, a Base G35 on manual with out option and no sunroof for that price. I would look harder i think you will be able to find a G with more option for like 17k unless you don't care about having options. The bottoms needed to be painted or you can get a full Nismo kit already painted but that will cost you about 1,500 i think. To change the radio you need a JDM Double Din kit or you can just get a Ipod adapter for the stock radio you should look on ebay.

No sun roof is a +.. That type of weight added to the top of the car is not very performance friendly. Especially in the twisties.

The car did come with a free Carfax and it does show one accident report... But I can't see any physical damage on the car. No airbag deployment though. Of course, if I decide to buy it I will take it to an independent shop to have them check it out and what not. It drove really nice, though! I'm still shopping though, I don't know what I really want. I need four doors (Realtor), prefer a manual, sporty, decent mileage. So far I've looked at 5 series, A4s, A6s, Maximas, etc... any ideas?

well obviously get a G35!!! but see if there might be a better car around you, maybe search in neighboring cities. check out the galleries on this website, especially the sedan gallery; I think it'll give you a better idea of what the potential is for a G35 sedan. Rolling up in a sweet G is sure to impress clients.

Hands down you should get a brand new altima. Its soo much roomier than the g35. better mileage. It will be new and have full warranty.
I have a 04 g35 coupe fully loaded and i have 07 altima 2.5 S. I picked my altima up for 18k brand new. unbelievable car for the money.

I could have sworn the 6mt wasn't till the 2003.5 sedans rolled out if it's a doggy door on the trunk then I guess I'm wrong. I would keep searching 16k for a 2003 with no options and an accident on it is too steep plus I think you could find one with the Nismo kit already installed!

yeah, thats not a good deal on the car.. you need to look on the internet, be willing to go out of state to look at the car, and drive it home.. it might be hard to find one in your state, but online you can find really clean cars for better deals than that. and maybe lower miles.

thanks to the person pointing out the price point of the altimas.. i want to sell my taurus and get a better second car.. i never knew the altimas were such a bargain.. ima be looking at like the '02s

^ I agree with all those saying that it's better to keep searching for a good deal. There are many sources to check out like Autotrader.com, craigslist, or your local newspaper classifieds.

Just for comparison purposes, I bought my G last year from a private owner for $16K. It's an '03.5 auto (no nav system), 40K on the odometer with no accidents and the Premium Package (moonroof, heated seats, all auto windows, Bose stereo, rear reclining seats, dual passenger A/C, Homelink anti-glare rear view mirror).

One of the reasons I'm having such a hard time finding a G35 with the 6mt is because i'm only looking for them at dealers... I would much rather do a trade than go through the hassle of selling my current car privately then having to find the right car quickly.
