Strange clicking noise
Whenever I turn off and get out my sedan, I always here this clicking noise that sounds like it's coming from underneath the car. Maybe it's always been there and I'm only noticing it now. It goes in intervals of maybe once every 3-5 seconds, they eventually stops. I thought it was the A/C, but I haven't run it in weeks. I also noticed it today while I was stopped at the drivethrough at Wendy's, car of course running this time. Any thoughts?

Re: Strange clicking noise
Yeah, it's just probably the exhaust pipes cooling off and all the oil dripping back down into the oil pan. Now if you came back 20 mins later and the same sound is still present then you might want to investigate further.

Re: Strange clicking noise

p.s. I agree with the exhaust cooling theory.

Re: Strange clicking noise
i actually have that same problem everytime i turn off my car or come to a complete stop. I asked a service manager at Infiniti 2 days ago and he told me that its the exhaust expanding because of the heat. It's trying to cool down. He said it takes about 2 minutes for it to totally cool down! So i wouldnt worry about that too much. Just do what you do normally and the car will be fine. it worried me at first too but then it all came together when the service manager explained it to me.
