I have an 03 g35 sedan 5at wanting to do an "x" conversion?

The conversion is due to the fact I now live back in jersey and SNOW is going to be a bitch this year. My options are to just pay off most of my loan and trade it in for maybe an sti/built wrx/stock evo. I know those cars are definitely a lot more fun with handling and power so it's quite a big decision but love the G. I definitely need the aero kit! the ****ty kitty on the base models do no justice.

 

There are way too many things involved with that. It would be a major undertaking.

Get snow tires and keep the G.

 

Just trade yours in for an X.

 

let's face it. TRADE-IN value SUCKS *****. If i trade-it I am definitely going for something in the lines of the sti/built wrx/evo and still hold value a lot better than the G. I will never buy a G sedan again due to that fact.

I almost got stuck thursday during the slight snow storm. I just started my new job and dependability is very important. It's a pretty nice job so I feel like I can do good by coming in when others can't.

 

Same situation dude, get a set of GOOD snow tires. I have Blizzaks on and I have been fine everyday. I work in sales and am in the car everyday usually driving 50 to 100 miles per day.

 

They didnt offer AWD in 03, but im sure its doable. You would be looking at alot of frustration and headaches for sure. It would be better if you did the work yourself but your still looking at alot of money for the parts.

Definitely pick up another set of 17s and put some snow tires on them. I couldnt believe the difference when i installed them. The G handles great in the snow with them, its like night and day. You will probably think twice about an AWD swap after driving through what used to be hell on some nice blizzacks.

 

Just buy a cheap beater.

Trade in your car if you want an AWD. It will cost you way, way, way more to change your car.

 

Buy a beater Jeep cherokee they go for like 1000-1500 bux, or good snow tires 500-800 bux

That's what I would do.

 

I would buy an old old wrangler with some 4X4 power. Even the older ones have pretty much the same body style (except front lights). As well as cheap and dependable!

 

hey i also have a 03 g35sedan...and it's pretty decent in snow with my snow tires (hankook ipikes). Like today in toronto we had like a 20cm snow storm and still went around fine in the snow...i only got stuck when my car kinda bottomed out, but other than that the car is awesome. AWD does make a difference when a vehicle needs to get moving, but i don't really think it will make you stop better or turn at a significantly at higher speeds. Just get snows on all 4 corners and you'll be fine~! LOVING THE G SEDAN IN THIS NASTY STORM~! XD

 

Yea I'm gonna get flamed for this but, get an audi a4. They are known for their all wheel drive system!! You could get an 02 for like 11k
