Bumping and old thread. I am going to do this but looking for an easier way to paint since I am unexperienced with painting. There are the JDM black headlights on ebay and I was wondering if those black bezels could be used in our OEM lights. Reason why I ask is because I could just get the lenses off, pop the bezels off, and replace them with the JDM ones from ebay. If anyone knows, please hit me up!! Thanks in advance!

I think they "might" work Chris. It's hard to say 100%. The ones I used went back into their lenses kind of tight and had to be sort of snapped in.

hmm...check your PM....I got an idea

Has anyone painted their ip sedan headlights semi-gloss or gloss black?

I always thought the "glossy look" looks much better than flat black, but after seeing g35papa's headlights in flat black... it looks amazing.

I think its been done before but on a coupe. Do a search for headlights and see what comes up.

I wanted to match more of my nismo openings on my bumper which are a sort of satin black.

Yeah. Its been a few months but I'm glad I did it. It really makes the front stand out alot more instead of just blending too much like before

Just wondering.....was planning on swapping my headlight lenses for the ebay ones. Will they fit and will they hold up better than the OEM in terms of yellowing and oxidation? Chris i remember you saying something about them having to snap in????

I'll step in for Chris if he doesn't mind. Chris used the ebay lenses on his lights now and they didn't clip in all the way, if I remember correctly. Also, they are starting to yellow and peel bad he said. That's why I'm giving him my old headlights

Afordable: Either wetsand and use a buffer to polish them up real good (what I did today, came out amazing).

More Expensive: Get some halogen OEM headlights off ebay with lenses in decent-good condition and replace. OEM is the only way to go in my opinion. Plus you could use them for parts. AKA paint the bezels black and swap them out to see if you like the look. If not, swap the stock/chrome ones back in
