First Accident

So i was pulling out of the local fast food joint, and had to break quickly and i was half way in the lane so i backed up, and i didn't look behind me (i know) and hit the person behind me. Her car was preety much totally fine, a couple little scratches in the paint, and she wasn't mad or anything and said things happen. My car's whole rear right side of the bumper is totally indented though, and im gonna need a new one for sure. Does anyone know how much these cost? Thanks

Re: First Accident

New bumper with paint and labor is somewhere in the neighborhood of $600-700.

I had that done last year, though it was because someone rear-ended me at a stoplight, so their insurance covered it.

Re: First Accident

Take it to a body shop you trust. Initial estimates should be free, though not always completely accurate. (They won't know if there's damage behind the bumper cover until they actually take it off.)

If you don't know of a good body shop in your area, you can ask your dealer, your insurance agent, and AAA (if you're a member) for recommendations.
