What a great way to end the year...

I went out today in the afternoon to buy my mom some lunch, and to my horror I found broken glass by my car... I looked and someone has broken into my rear driver side window. It was tinted so they probly kicked it in or something and stole my ipod and a small piggy bank I put my spare change in... Well, they scuffed the chrome around the window, broken glass and glass dust all over the inside, ripped a piece of leather on the door, and a huge rip on the outer surface on the passenger seat leather. All this for an IPOD!!! and the ipod wasn't even in plain view c'mon now! I cleaned everything up the entire afternoon, and now there's a white calender taped around it... looks funny! Police couldn't find anything, and it looks like this will be payed for out of pocket. What a great way to end the year, oh and on the other note, I had to put my pet to sleep 'cuz she was really really sick.... So yea...hope the rest of you guys are doing better. Cheers and Happy New Years!

P.S. I know they won't, but any chance the dealer do the window under warranty?

Sorry to hear that man, yea I know exactly how you feel, your car getting broken into is one of the worst violations of your personal space

I would call your insurance they should cover it no prob, and I am almost 99% sure it would not affect your rates

That sucks! Some people are just amazing...

No on the warranty but your insurance will pay for it. Maybe not the iPod but damage to the car.

thnx for the replies guys! always good to know there are those who understands~ I spoke to my insurance and it seems since I have a $500 deductible, i'll be paying up to $500 and anything over they'll pay the rest. Weird though, I always thought anything over $500 I wasn't charged but guess it's different with break-ins and accidents. And as goes for my ipod, my personal property insurance will cover that, so I guess i'll get the ipod touch now~ atleast somethings being covered right? Sucks though, I was hoping to get some mods done but guess that'll wait a bit...

Check with your home insurance company. Most of them would cover contents in the car.

sorry to hear about the car man.

imo its not worth it to go through your insurance. your rates will go up anytime you file a claim. the window isnt going to be more than 500 dollars anyway. i used to work for Allstate so i know a thing or 2 about it.

ya, thats what I figured... so I'm planning to go to the dealer tomorrow morning and just drop it off to do some warranty work on it as well and pick up a loaner (hopefully). The damage to the interior just hurts though...
