04 6MT Sedan Vs. 03 Lincoln LS V8
04 6MT Sedan Vs. 03 Lincoln LS V8
i was driving home last nite around 2 am and a new lincoln LS V8 pulls next to me and revs his engine hard. So i return the favor. The light turns green and we both hit it. He get the jump on me becuase of a better launch, but once i hit 2nd we're nose to nose. Then good ole' 3rd gear comes in and i BLAST past him getting a good 2 car lengths ahead of him. After 3rd we back off. But we again race at the next light. This time i had a great launch and ate the the V8 for dinner.
It's amazing that 35k V6 sedan can smoke a V8. Infiniti has truly made a remarkable engine.
Performance tests show that the lincoln LS V8 is a tad faster than the BMW 540i. I LOVE my G, it's nice to have a car with 12k miles on it and still put a huge grin on my face.
I get my Injen CAI installed on monday along with Unorthodox Pulleys i'm interested to see who the next victim of the G will be.

Re: 04 6MT Sedan Vs. 03 Lincoln LS V8
I'm not surprised you easily bested an 03 LS. I test drove an 03 Lincoln Ls V8 prior to buying my G35 sedan. I was really let down by how sluggish it felt, and my buddy who went with me on both test drives could feel the difference from the passenger seat as well. The door handles on all LS up to 2004 were the cheapest looking thin fake chrome plastic you have EVER seen, and were so poorly made that you would nearly cut yourself on the seam of the fake chrome handles. This, and the pathetic looking fake wood trim destroyed what was otherwise an OK interior. I understand Lincoln wised up in 2004 and upgraded the interior.
Having said all that, if the would put enough ponies under the hood to make the LS a six second 0-60 performer they would have one helluva nice car. It is more comfortable than the G35(ESPECIALLY the DRIVER'S SEAT!), has a very stable platform with less body roll, and handles very nicely despite its size.
