inst. panel noise

inst. panel noise
when the temperature is 30 - 40 F I get a noise in my I/P that is in between a thump and a rattle. Sounds like it's coming from the base of the windshield. If I turn the defrost on, it usually goes away after it warms up. Anyone had this problem and know what the fix is?

Re: inst. panel noise
No need to ignore the noises... here's a fix
*go to home depot and buy a $3.00 roll of very thin, adhesive weatherstrip
*raise your hood
*remove your wipers
*remove the cowling (black plastic) under the windshield by popping off the clips and undoing the screws
*apply the weatherstrip to the lower portion of the cowling where the cowling actually touches the windshield. You'll notice that a thin, cheap, flimsy strip already exists there.
You can remove the old strip or simply add the new weatherstrip to the bottom of the cowling and reinstall.
*the new cushion will prevent the rattles, squeaks, and groans coming from that area.
*good luck
