A/C Question

Now that the temps in my area have entered the 80's, I finally used my A/C this week. Is this normal...
When I have my fan on manual (No AC) & I hit the AC button, the air flow switch changes to "recirculate". In ither words, the default button that shows outside air entering moves to the next button to the right(recirculate).
I haven't used the Auto yet as it bumps the fan on super high with a lot of noise. Can't hear the radio!

Re: A/C Question

Auto will lower the fan speed later when the temperature starts to get close to what you've asked it for.

Yes, the recirc thing sounds normal.. the A/C system can cool the car quicker on recirc than with fresh air when it's hot outside. You can always change it back if you prefer.

Re: A/C Question

I've noticed it too. It is a little annoying. Another thing that annoys me about the climate cintrol system is that you can't run the fan on recirc without the A/C on. It's one of the few features on the G that aggravates me. Maybe Infiniti will correct these little annoyances with the 2005 model.

Re: A/C Question

I run recirc all the time without A/C on. Especially the rare times that I am behind a diesel truck.

Re: A/C Question

What's the procedure you use? When I hit the recir button the AC comes on.
Maybe it's a 2004 change.

Re: A/C Question

Once in recir mode, I think pressing the A/C button turns it (A/C) off.

Not on my car!! If you guys can figure out a way to do this, please enlighten us!! I've fiddled around with the system a lot, and have yet to get in into recirc without also having A/C.

Re: A/C Question

After reading this, I checked mine out when I went out, if you have it on "manual" and turn off the AC button, it is just working on the temp setting, so it's heat or vent, no cold air, don't know why I hadn't seen this before. I assume if you hit recirc, the AC comes back on, didn't check that!
