I got mine when I was 16 and now I'm going to turn 19. I cared for my life and my car so I drove with caution but once in a while...I do speed

Holy **** dude same hahah. So glad I started out with a beater for like 2 years or so. 1998 Lexus ES 300 Salvaged title haha!

First week I got it.. I ran into a shopping cart that was placed against one of those light poles. So I screwed up my bumper a bit and shattered one of my headlights.

Got my G at 19.

I'm glad my parents didn't buy me a car in hindsight. I hated it at the time. Ended up rebuilding a totaled minivan just to have a vehicle to drive.
Always kept it in pretty good condition, but I did ask alot out of it. I knew if I had a real car, or even just a crappy sedan, it would have been too much at 16. Bought my G last year at 21.

Nope, but you know how it is at 16. You feel invincible, and having a car like that is too much temptation. The torque plus the softly sprung numb luxo suspension is a bad combination.

I very cautiously let my brother drive my Z every now and then ( he's 16 ). I always disable the boost control.

I did my fair share of dumb driving when i was 16. I did it in my dads first G35 and my Chevy Trailblazer though lol got it all out of my system, now its like, whatever. I putt around like an old man for the most part now and im only 19.

Im 19, turning 20 next week, and I just bought my black 05 6mt sedan last month. 55,000 miles on it, got it for 12,750.

my first car that i got when i was 16 was a 2004 mazda 3 (2.0L - the smaller engine) and it was a terrific first car, the G has twice the hp of the mazda and I'm glad i got most of my early driving experience in a car that was far less tempting to speed in (mostly because it took so long to get to speed).

the mazda 3 is a great handling car and i consider myself very lucky to have that be my first car.

At this point we need a "how many sedan owners are over 35" thread.

Have a feeling there wouldn't be as much response

When this thread was started I was waaaay under 35. Didn't bother to post then, I guess I am a sore loser now.
Used G can be had for 10K...when I was working at McDonalds during my university years I bought 94 Ford Escort GT for 9K...
For some reason at that forum nobody cared if someone is over 16(or 18, or 25) or not.
Wake up people, G is a nice car, but there's nothing special about it to use it as a landmark of your life success.
Owning a Porsche makes panties drop much quicker...
