RWD G's don't go in the snow..Pics..
MUCH better. still have to be cautious though, as long as you dont do anything stupid you should be ok. without snow tires, even if you're not doing anything stupid, you could get screwed.
I just drove thru the same blizzard tonight in Chicago, going back from school.
Yes, the roads were scary but I had no problems what so ever driving my RWD G35, all it takes is time and you got to do things gently (accelerating, steering and braking). All the electronic gizmos they put in this car will help you a lot doing it (yes with out them you will wreck the car in the matter of seconds), but it is you who has to control the car in this type of weather. Just take your sweet time and you will get home safely.
Drive Safely and enjoy your G35

I'll say +1,000 on snow tires.
There is no problem adding fliud. I have done it a number of times when my pads are low. They still lasted another 1-2 months and I didn't have the annoying warning lights on. That's why pads have the warning tabs on them too. Any place who is going to change your pads will have a pressure bleeding system so getting the proper amount of fluid is simple. Hell, I even have one to help me flush my fluid every 12 months.

You might be low on fluid but I doubt it. Take your car to any shop that does free brake estimates and ask them to measure your pad thickness. Take that measurement and cross reference with the service manual for excepted pad thickness. Most likely this is the issue, and probably the cheapest one to fix.
Please don't add fluid, because that will fix the symptom but to nothing do fix the problem.

I also live in Utah and have a 05 G35 sedan with the 6 speed MT. After one attempt in the snow I replaced the Turanzas with Dunlop M3 sport winter tires. Prior to replacing the stock Turanzas, the car was absolutely unusable in the snow. The slightest incline with any amount of snow was a white knuckle experience. Now I go wherever whenever.
just adding another 'testimony'. . .i as well have 05 g35 sedan 6MT with dunlop M3 wintersports, second season now in the snow, and yes, as everyone has already said, they are bada$$ in the snow. i'm not climbing over mountains, but i can definitley handle just about anything utah has to throw at me during winter season on regular roads. . .
'sweetdaddy'. . .what party of utah do u live in? i'm in salt lake city, but seldom do i find out another 6MT sedan is in the area. the Tim Dahle dealership say they very very rarely see a 6MT sedan. . .good to know we are unique!

I didn't have any trouble getting around last week ( RWD sedan with all-season tires). I drove very slowly, used one gear higher to accel and downshifted to help brake. I did drift sideways a couple times on ice but that would've happened in any car or SUV.
You dont need winter tires. If you have decent all season tires you'll be fine. Just throw 80lbs of weight in the back and you'll be fine.
Case in point. Think about your local police department. Nearly all of them are RWD Crown Vics, with NO traction control or ecc. They use high perfromance all-season tires and manage to make it year round without chaning to winter tires.
Just add the weight first and if you still cant make it around then go spend your money on tires.

We've had some horrible snow in Chicago this year, with traction control + winter wheels, I've had no trouble at all. This is my first winter with a RWD car and I was worried, but glad I've had no problems so far.

05 Sedan 6Speed. Black on Black. =)
Winter tires are a must for these cars if you live in a winter climate. My car can be a challenge to drive with the all seasons on in the cold/snow. The winter tires make a world of difference and I've felt very safe in my car for the last three years.
Regardless of your configuration you need to adjust your driving style to match the conditions. Heavy on the gas or brake and speeding is bound to get you in trouble. A feathered touch is the way to go when it's nasty out.
