List of sh** that needs to be fixed on my new G.

This is why i hate buying used cars.

Took in the 05 G today to get some shudders and shakes looked at. This is what needs replacing and fixing.

Needs Drive Belts (dried and cracked) $120.
Pulls Left (Alignment) $65
Steering Wheel Shakes (Balance Tires) $80
Shimmy coming from rear more than front. Machine all rotors and scuff pads to correct. $265.

My sisters bf works at the Subaru/Acura dealer and im gonna ask him if he can just do this stuff there for a cheaper cost/free. He probably can. But there is no way im paying $500 for this sh**! (I have to pay for my own maintenance)

My mom is calling the dealer we bought it at tomorrow before we head to Mexico, and telling them this. Hopefully they can pay for some of it or w/e. They said it was certified used.

Sorry to hear this, definitely hit up the dealer and see if they are willing to fix any of it or at least offer some sort of discount. They may not be willing to take care any of it, but its worth a shot, they may cover some of it under warranty.

I had a couple of issues soon after I had purchased mine used, but I brought it in to the dealer and everything was covered under warranty. Depending on the dealership, they may take care of it.

Belts - Don't bother unless ribs are actually falling off. Cracks are very normal and completely fine.

As for the brakes, the shakes, and the pull......well you should have noticed this when testing the car. It's buyer beware and I really hate to say it, but the dealership probably isn't going to do squat for you.

FYI, don't waste your time with the resurfacing rotors because if they're really warped, the same issue will reappear. I have a very hard time believe the rotors are warped though. If rotors are warped, it usually only happens to the fronts since they provide about 70% of your stopping power. If the front rotors are warped, then the pads have to be replaced too.

I'd suggest going out on a very flat road and verify there is a pull. If so then get a front end alignment. As for the tires, make sure you go drive for a good 20 minutes and make sure these shakes you're feeling simply aren't flat spots on the cold tires after sitting in a cold garage. That's just the nature of some tires where they're cold. I'd also check to make sure that you see wheel weights on all the rims. They may have come off and thrown the balance off. G35's aren't smooth cars, especially in the cold winter months.

Its alright everyone. Talked to my sisters bf. He said he can do all of this stuff for close to nothing. We will give that a shot then if it continues, take the next step.. i know there is a pull though, and mad shakes.

Our 04 doesnt shake this much. I also think the brakes on the 04 are a lot better as well.

WTF..dunno about ur state but here in MASS under Lemon Law they suppose to repair ur all dats stuff at their cost..... or even return the car. When I purchased my acura cl back in 04 my tranny had went in 10 days after purchase.. so i called the dealer and they had to have a tow truck pick up the car at my house and give me a loaner for the time the car was gonna wait for a new tranny....and also when i bought my g35 last summer i had intalled the Tein S-techs and in a month my shocks blew so i put on the factory springs back on and took it to the dealer and replaced it under warranty.

Since u don't even have a month with ur car u should have a 60 to 90 day warranty for any problem ur car has. Check ur documents such as purchase and sales aggrement and receipt from purchase.

None of these items constitute usage of the lemon plus the lemon law only applies to the original buyer. Everything he's listed is wear and tear and/or abuse caused by the previous owner and/or bad tires.

You didn't notice the shaking when test driving the car? You haven't hit a curb or major pothole recently? The brakes on the 04 are smaller than your 05's and should be less prone to warpage. I don't think the 05+ brakes feel as good though because they used a less aggressive pad to reduce rotor wear.
