They found all the codes in their system , turns out 31036-AL004 is a code for Transmission reflash and 23710-AM604 is actually for engine ECU reflash. I did both, took around $45 minutes to do as program loads pretty slow into the vehicle. Cost me $54

Now it might be a little too early to determine if shifting or anything else has changed on my car, but initial impressions or "Placebo Effect" do suggest that shifting has less lag, shifts happens more when i want them shift and not the other way around how it was before. I will post more results after a few days of driving...
cool did they say what the ECU reflash was supposed to do ?

my 5AT takes forever to downshift.....hope that helps it.

definately let us know how it feels after more driving

If you go to the link(Nissan publications) I posted earlier and select the version in the drop down menu it has some information on the years it is good for. The only thing I'm not sure about is if the TCM/ECU has changed over the years and if they released different versions for those.

What the dealer serviced department failed to inform you of is:

The “updates” have microwaves that transfers proton density in the cerebral vortex to a simulation of kinetic energy – this is triggered by sensations derived while spirited driving… when you are relaxed the cranial nerves are somewhat sedate and the sensation of “luxury” shift is achieved (some of us refer as “granny mode”)… when you are “in the zone” and highly alert during spirited drives, the neurons fire more rapidly and thus the feeling of performance shift is experienced.

This is old technology but new to automotive – and as much garble as I could muster…

IOW – I think it’s all in your head

the post was mainly to be funny... however; I believe they did it in an attempt to appease the people who have issues... it probably helps minutely.

UPDATE:
im honestly thinking the upgraded software is helping. Shifts in manual mode feel more precise and auto feels just better over all.

But they will only flash to Nissan published programs, no customizing.

As far as the TS reflashes, I believe Tadashi numbers his reflash a higher ver.# than Nissan would ever go to, so when the dealer checks it shows it's up to date and no ECU reflash is needed. Therefore, the dealer would not overwrite TS ECU changes unless they forced a lower version on (which most would never do)

^^ statement is for ECU, not TCU flashes.
