idle high

i was driving on the highway yesterday and i looked down and saw the rpms where kinda high like 3.5k at 80-85mph and 4k at 100mph. Even at 40mph it seems high compared to my maxima. Anyone else think so?

Re: idle high

I am assuming it is 5AT. Mine does 70mph @2900 and 80mph @ 3300 rpm and I have stock tires
This means every 400 rpm will give you about 10mph.
So to get to max speed on the speedometer of 160mph you will need 3600 rpm left on the tachometer and that is exactly what you have before it redlines.
So in theory at 160mph you should be at 6500rpm. I have not confirmed it yet but will let you know if I do : )
If anyone else does it first do let us know
