I Got Ripped Off

SO it was time for new rotors and brakes, I opted to do them all at the same time to get it over with, you know, just one less thing to do in the summer. So they look great when I first pick my car up then I start noticing they weren't new, they were old, they rusted orange all over my rims, and I am livid, I am going to the shop tommorow, and throwing a G35 fit, guy's I have a feeling this dude is going to deny it, what can I say about rotors to prove there old??

My brother in law said they cut my old ones or something??..not sure what that means?

take them to another dealership service dept and ask them to check your rotors they can tell by the width of the rotors if they are old. Did it rain after you got the rotors installed? They will rust when they get wet regardless of age.

It might of, I live in new england and this time of year its pretty much wet no matter what, but here's the thing, I expect them to rust, but these look tooo rusted even my old ones didnt peel orange like this, i mean my rear rims are so dirty from it, but yeah I guess I will bring it to a dealer and have them looked at, have you heard of people doing this to people?

I have the same sedan if thats whats in your avatar, what rims you got?

if the surface of the rotors feel smooth, without significant grooves, you got new rotors. check for that first, before you raise hell.

the rotors, new or old, will rust very easily in rain - even couple of hours in the wet makes them rust. it's normal, and nothing to be concerned with. first time you use your brake pedal, the rust gets scraped off.

No, that would still be true even if they just turned them. The real way to tell should be that the outer edge, and the inner hub (non-swept area) should still be smooth as they couldn't have oxidized too much in a couple of days.

Check your rotors middle body, the part with the ridges. If thats rusted than there is no way they are new! I Re-surfaced or "cut" my rotors recently and they look new on the swept surface, but they are a bit rusty on the inner ridges. Mind you i only have 14k..... Good luck
